DAY ONE

Take a Tour: Get to know Savannah through a city tour. The Savannah Visitor Information Center is a good place to join one. This will help you get better acquainted with our genteel Southern town and let you sample what you might want to explore more later.

Lunch in the Market: Savannah's City Market has several popular dining establishments. Dine outdoors at a European-style cafe or eat in one of the Market's restored buildings, each has its own quirky charm.

Lace Up Your Walking Shoes: Take an “up close and personal” look at Savannah's magnificent architecture and 21 splendid squares. Get out your map and plan your route! The Bull and Abercorn Street corridors are a good place to start. These routes take you past some of Savannah's famous landmarks and nine of our 21 squares. Make sure you visit beautiful Forsyth Park, one of Savannah's signature spots.

Eat, Drink and Be Merry: You covered a lot of ground on day one. For a causal bite before turning in, visit historic River Street. You'll find seafood, steaks and family favorites served in restored cotton warehouses, which are also home to shops and pubs, some with live music.

DAY TWO

Themed Tour: Savannah's rich, 250-year history invites all kinds of exploration. Take a tour focused on antiques, architecture, black heritage, the Civil War, cemeteries, Savannah gardens, Savannah film sites, Southern writers or the best-seller “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” More than 40 tour companies are ready to serve as your guide.

Cultural Attractions and Museums: Savannah has more than 45 historical and cultural attractions. Spend a day discovering the treasures within our many house museums, forts and historic sites.

A Southern Sampler: Savannah loves food and seasons all its dishes with hospitality. For lunch on day two, dine at a restaurant that specializes in Southern cuisine to get a sample of our down-home cooking.

Antiques and Galleries Galore: Savannah is always alive with the arts. Influences like the Savannah College of Art and Design and the City Market artist colony makes our Historic District the perfect artist's muse. Antique shops, galleries and hand-crafted gift shops pepper every corner of the district and River Street, so explore and shop to your heart's content.

Romantic Evening: Savannah is a city of romance. A moonlight carriage ride is the perfect beginning to a romantic evening. Then dine by candlelight on lowcountry favorites or haute cuisine. After dinner, catch a show at one of Savannah's three performance theaters, where musicals, plays and headlining acts can be found year-round.

DAY THREE

Fantastic Tybee Island: Just 20 minutes from the Historic District lies Tybee Island, Savannah's beach. Spend day three enjoying sea breezes. Take a dolphin tour, kayak tour or deep-sea fishing excursion. Climb to the top of Georgia's oldest, tallest lighthouse, or track wartime battles at the island's two historic forts. Or just swim and sunbathe.

Taste of Tybee: Watch the shrimp boats come ashore with their catch, and know you're in for some of the freshest seafood ever. Dine at one of Tybee's funky seaside bungalows or one of their trendier, upscale restaurants. Hit the Tybee strip for nightlife and entertainment or take a moonlit walk on the Tybee pier.

DAY FOUR

Something for Him - Something for Her: Savannah has more than 30 golf courses within 30 miles, including some of the toughest holes anywhere. Mild temperatures make for ideal conditions year-round. Or consider spending the day at one of several day spas. Be sure to include a foot rub after all the walking you've done.

Savannah Souvenirs: On your last day, don't forget to find perfect Savannah souvenirs. Historic River Street features many specialty shops that carry art, sweets, candles and collectibles. Or visit those boutiques and other shops you might have missed.
